I light a candle and slowly walk up a hill.
I protect the flame till the end.
I am sitting still in a black kayak covered with a dark cloth.
My right arm lean out of the cloth on the kayak edge.
My assistant stabs my vein with a syringe needle and connects it with a tube ending in a vacuum bottle.
The blood runs through the tube and fills the vacuum.
After a few minutes the bottle is full and the blood stops running.
I remain in this position for three hours.
_No Ice Cream
I appear wherever in the public space and hold an ice cream.
The ice cream consists of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.
I stand still until the whole ice cream is melted and dripped to the ground.
_Untitled (Spray piece No. 9)
Before the exhibition space opens to the public I get inside a black plastic bag.
I crouch inside with three black chalk spray cans modified with syringe needles which stick through the plastic beeing rarely visible.
After 20 minutes every three minutes I spray from the inside to the outside without seeing what is around me.
After ca. one hour pain and oxygen loss come along.
After 90 minutes the audience is pleased to leave the space for a short while in order to make me disappear.
I am leaning on a church`s wall in Berlin and read out loud the Biography of Diogenes of Sinope.
The Performance ends with the end of the book.
The Audience is pleased to pass a black curtain one at the time.
Behind the curtain the visitor finds himself in a small complete dark room with only me in front.
I am holding a light bulb in one hand while the other hand pulls out a silver gelatine negative photo paper out of my trousers pocket.
I hold the paper under the light. It is empty.
After ca. a minute or longer most of the visitors decide to leave the room.
In that moment I raise my arm towards the visitor offering the paper.
Only when the visitor grabs it I let it go.
Now my fingerprint appears clearly on the paper.
The processing of the photo paper is over.
The new owner`s fingerprint will not appear on the photo.
The performance repeats with every visitor entering the dark room.
_Der Nackte Messermann Vom Neptunbrunnen
29.06.2013: A 31 year old man takes off his clothes and gets into the Neptun - Fountain near the Alexanderplatz in Berlin.
He walks around the sculpture holding a kitchen knife in his hand.
Witnesses take pictures and videos.
The man starts cutting himself.
The police arrive in a large number surrounding the Fountain with raised guns shouting at him.
One policeman gets into the fountain pointing his gun on the naked man.
The man walks straight towards the police officer and gets shot in his breast.
Few minutes later he died.
Being a performance artist appearing in the public space behaving unusual as well,
I felt to react on this happening by re-enacting it symbolically.
On the 10.10.13 I get undressed and walk naked (with a videocamera on my head) in the water around the fountain.
I symbolically cut my self with a kitchen knife turning the blade upside.
After a few minutes I lay the knife in the water where the anonymous man had to die.
I leave the Fountain.
_Reenactment of VALIE EXPORT & Peter Weibel "Aus der Mappe der Hundigkeit"
This Performance is a result of a Performance-workshop I hold at the Al Riwaq Art space in Manama Bahrain in 2011.
The original Performance took place in the streets of Vienna in 1968.
It seemed far too imprudent to perform in the streets of Manama because the consequences were not predictable.
The chosen place has a symbolic character. It is on the edge of the city surrounded by the city skyline, ruins of the Qal`at al`Bahrein Fort, the archaeological fort-museum, the entrance to the queen`s garden and a shiite mosque.
Nobody disturbed the walk but the video of the performance was not allowed to be shown in the art gallery.
The performance took place at the Al Riwaq Art space in Manama, Bahrain in 2011.
A Persian Carpet is buried in the desert. After a week the carpet is brought to the gallery and hang in the exhibition space.
Using a palm tree branch I continuously beat the carpet from both sides for one hour.
The Beating is extremely loud and the branch rubs off my skin.
By signing a contract with the Art-Museum of Bremerhaven that I was not going to suicide, I had the possibility to stand still on the edge of the museum`s roof for one hour.
