_Ölkreuz (detail)

sculpture 2019

bronze / ca. 56x38x12cm

This bronze sculpture is based on a natural model. branches of olive trees were collected by the artist in abbandoned gardens in tuscany.

Two branches were connected to form a latin cross. The wooden cross was then burned away and replaced by liquid bronze (direct lost-wax cast or lost form cast). Instead the olive leaves were cut out of bronze sheets and glued into tiny drilled holes.
